On 9/11 since we didn’t have school the next day and it was my friends birthday I asked if I could go out. Growing up on an island “going out” meant finding a restaurant worker to buy us beer and my dad knew.
His response: “You’re going to fucking Iraq in 2 years. Do whatever you want.”

@bobross_jay @SomaKazima2 It's harsh but if you're ever in that situation, it's a generally better for you to shoot to kill. If it's brought to court, an attorney will likely argue that not doing so shows that you weren't truly in fear for your life and therefore weren't justified in using deadly force.

@SomaKazima2 Ngl, if I shoot someone out of self defense, I’ll call 911 to get an ambulance to the scene so they can try to save their life. My shot will be to wound or immobilize, not to kill.

The longer answer is there are some internal mechanisms that make it "safer", but there's no external mechanism on a Glock that prevents the trigger from being pulled. The only exception was the MHS trial 19X and that was added reluctantly. For comparison.

@harveyspistols I just find ways work on what I can, whenever I can. Will I be as good as someone with a lot of ammo and access to public/private land to run drills on? I doubt it. That's not an excuse to not work on anything, though.

"Go out and train" is very easy if you live in western US. But for those without public land/restrictive gun laws, how do you train? I am moving to FL, and there is absolutely no shooting on public land there. Fair, its flat like a sheet of paper. But I will still be out goofing around in kit in the woods, and luckily have friends with private land with a range. For those who are urban or not so lucky, what do you do? Flat range only? I know some places have run and gun 5k matches that you can do in kit. 2 gun/outlaw matches, even just USPSA. Any more ideas?
