@HalfwayPost Sounds to me like the pope needs a cognitive test as he fails to read the Bible and understand it! ?? For example …he has approved blessing same sex ‘marriages’ . More likely though he knew exactly what he was doing and showing himself to be the heretic that he is!

NEWS! The govt has just announced its changing the Council Tax Debt Collection rules on the back of @mmhpi recommendations. Here's my official quote ----- Council Tax debt collection is so aggressive it’d make banks blush. It’s the most vicious and damaging form of legal debt collection out there - causing counterproductive misery for millions. We’ve spent the last 18 months campaigning hard to change this hideous system, and having seen so much pain caused by it, I’m genuinely moved by this huge first step towards making things better. Currently, in England, if you miss a monthly payment, many councils, within usually 3 weeks, demand payment for the entire year. How people who can’t find a month’s money are expected to find a year’s I don’t know. Yet if they can’t pay, within just three more weeks, they are often taken to court, have ‘admin costs’ added, and soon see bailiffs sent in. No commercial firm would be allowed to do anything close - constituents are treated worse than customers. The new rule from next April means councils must wait two months, not 3 weeks, to ask for a year’s money, and the ‘admin costs’ will be capped at £100. In a perfect world, it would be even longer and the lower cap would apply, but this is still a hugely welcome change to a 33-year-old process. For councils too, it is worth remembering that this grotesque system is often catastrophic for people’s finances and wellbeing, leaving many needing more help and support, and ultimately the same council having to pick up the pieces.

🇮🇱 🇮🇷 Prime Minister Netanyahu has rejected the idea of separatism in Iran. Whether it’s the Kurds or any other ethnic group. In his latest speech, he reiterated that he wants to liberate a united Iran to allow Iranians to take back their country. Iran has always been a multi-ethnic country under a unifying cultural umbrella.

🚨 BREAKING: Zohran Mamdani has just been caught red-handed changing his story after saying his Muslim "aunt" had a very rough time wearing a hijab in public after 9/11 It was a "cousin" of his father, who is no longer alive, named "Zehra Fuhi." It's been exposed that Zohran's Muslim aunt didn't live in New York City at the time of 9/11. Everything about this dude is a fraud - this is only the latest example.

The UK is about to legalise partial birth abortion for any reason at all, up to birth. Partial birth abortion involves delivering the baby halfway through the birth canal - and while it is half-in, half-out, sliding forceps into the baby's skull and sucking its brains out.

Today the Observer has published an extraordinary piece, which I think they view as a romantic case for assisted dying, but which is, in fact, a textbook case of how doctors subvert the rules to help patients without any terminal illness whatsoever to die by suicide. It could not highlight more starkly the dangers of the law we are currently debating. In the piece, doctors in New South Wales (whose AD law is very similar to our proposed one) collude with two elderly people with no terminal diagnoses to end their lives. One person has generative spinal discs, her husband has panic attacks. They are both very old and wish to die, No terminal condition. No expectation of death within 6 months. Yet they found two doctors only too happy to sign off their double suicide & prescribe the lethal drugs. We may all yearn to “slip away in a room full of love” at the end of our lives - I know I do - but enabling state sponsored suicide under the guise of assisted dying couldn’t be more obviously dangerous. The Observer has just revealed how an apparently safe law in Australia is really used, in the real world, to enable suicide. The doctors were entirely happy to ignore the “terminal illness with 6 months or less to live” requirement. And the family of the dead couple are so confident this is all OK that they wrote about it in a UK newspaper. It’s dystopian, dishonest & so deeply worrying. Please let’s not sleepwalk into this in the UK.

I wrote this with a heavy heart. No doubt, those who voted for the Church of England to bless same-sex couples intended to do just that. But the result of the vote will be the opposite of blessing for Christians who (like me) experience same-sex attraction thegospelcoalition.org/article/church…
