Takeaway: Gathering pt & fam feedback only worth it if it will result in positive, actual changes in ethics consultation practice. More research/pilot projects needed to understand the benefit vs burden of such an initiative. #ethicsunconference

Janet Malek ⁦@BCMEthics⁩: To seek pt & family feedback on ethics consultation, face to face interviews done at discharge or shortly after likely most ideal. Open question of whether value of seeking feedback outweighs burdens/risks—more research needed. #EthicsUnconference

Another insight—it’s a delicate balance to be proactive, when you are invited by a team you know where you stand, not always the case when your ethics program is more integrated. Important to recognize both benefits and limitations of changes in practice. #EthicsUnconference
