Restore Britain will offer the British people a referendum on the death penalty. It is a matter of conscience. But I have made no secret of the fact that I would welcome its reintroduction. There are people in our prisons and walking our streets who are guilty of the worst imaginable crimes, up to and including the trafficking, torture, rape, and murder of children. They don’t deserve to live, and the world would be better off without them. Simple as that.

What, exactly, did we gain from leaving the EU? I voted Remain, but I am a) from Swindon - a massive immigrant town that voted Leave and b) lived in Cornwall for 30 years - also voted Leave, and I respect the vote. I have since changed my mind, and would now vote Leave. However, for Swindon, they voted Leave because of immigration, and Cornwall voted Leave for fishing and farming - what has been achieved? Nothing. The EU just punished us. Glad we're out, but to list this as an achievement of Farage, is questionable. Regardless, we owe him nothing. He had the working class in his hands during the GE, and he decided us oiks weren't good enough for him. And rather than make any effort at all to get us back, he's chasing the muslims and the liberals like a bitch on heat. Its embarrassing. 40k people didnt vote in Denton and Gorton because there was nobody to vote for. Come the next election, we at least have a protest vote, rather than a spoiled ballot or not bothering.

The one issue on which I profoundly disagree with Rupert Lowe is on Nigel Farage’s political accomplishments. I am very worried about some of the things I’m hearing from people involved in Restore in an official capacity. For instance, @orlaminihane talks of “wrong’uns” and “extremists” she wants to gatekeep from positions in the party. We need @RupertLowe10 to outline what he considers to be “extreme” and if it includes people who want remigration and are willing to say things like “England for the English” then Restore is over before it’s started. What differentiates Restore from Reform or Advance if we aren’t going to be allowed to talk about demographics? I trust Rupert and I trust his core team, but we need clarity on this and quickly.

The United Kingdom cannot afford to be squeezed between a resurgent United States, a federalising European Union, and an assertive China. It is my view that if Britain is to thrive as a sovereign, self-confident nation, we must look first to those who share our language, our institutions, our common law tradition, our parliamentary democracy, and our Head of State: a CANZUK alliance made up of our kith and kin in Australia, Canada, and New Zealand - nations bound together by history, by shared sacrifice, and by common ancestry. Broader still, we must make full use of the Commonwealth - fifty-six independent nation-states linked by historic ties to our great country. The Commonwealth may be brought together by our past; however, unlike the European Union, its nations represent the markets of the future. A truly Global Britain must rediscover the influence born of our proud history - a soft-power that is the envy of the world.
