The press release mentioned: ebu.ch/news/2026/05/t… 260+ journalists were killed by Israel in both indiscriminate air-strikes and targeted killings. The EBU performatively use their names, but still refuse to name their killers. An insult to their memories.

JJ answers a little unsuredly, whether he would present the trophy to any country, including Israel. "I'm very excited to see who wins the show here in Vienna, and then we'll see then how it turns out... But I'll be on stage giving over the trophy."

@EuroFansAG ...stay in Eurovision. And also the fact that this meeting took place just 1 month before the EBU general assembly where they held the infamous vote on Israel's participation. Why are directors of the contest meeting government officials in the first place when I thought it was..

"Louder Creators" also ran an apparently government-backed voting campaign to vote 20 times for Israel's entry in 2024. They also "managed digital activities" for an Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs event at the UN at which Eden Golan sang "October Rain".

These videos were sent directly to creators and influencers through the Israeli delegation. They were uploaded by Dorav Drei, who is part of Louder Creative, who describe themselves as “actively combatting skewed perspectives online”. Now, the videos are banned.

@gjkooijman A question is asked about whether showing a gay couple in the opening VT could be accused of becoming "political". Head of Contest Mischa Zickler says "we're talking about basic human rights and not about political questions here". 👀 End of press conference.

.@gjkooijman asks if ORF were consulted about the editing out of protest audio on YouTube. ORF says ask the EBU about it - they are only responsible for the broadcast. They will continue to broadcast reality. ORF says Israel had a lot of support in the audience.
