UNRWA, the United Nations agency established to provide relief and services to Palestinian refugees, is now at the center of a sweeping US government investigation.
The USAID Office of Inspector General has found that over 1,500 current and former UNRWA employees are under investigation for ties to terrorist organizations in Gaza. So far, 108 have been referred to the State Department for suspension, including UNRWA school principals, teachers, and security personnel found to have served as Hamas terrorist commanders, snipers, and weapons coordinators. One referred school principal ran a Hamas military manufacturing unit - with a tunnel shaft discovered directly beneath his school. Another teacher was ordered to bring anti-tank missiles to a prescribed location during the October 7, 2023 massacre in southern Israel. Israel has warned about Hamas infiltration of UNRWA for years. The numbers now confirm it.

Let's not lose our grip on the facts - instead of recriminations and accusations - just the facts.
1) Congressman @RoKhanna was offered to coordinate his visit with the State of Israel - this goes beyond notifying of his presence in the country. He was offered in-depth coordination of his schedule to avoid misunderstandings, and he chose to ignore that offer.
He also chose not to coordinate his visit with the U.S. embassy in Jerusalem.
2) He chose to conduct his visit accompanied by Palestinian activists, and, for some reason, @nytimes journalists with cameras at the ready. With him was also a person affiliated with @jstreet, an organization that actively lobbies against the government of Israel on Capitol Hill.
3) Mr. Khanna and his entourage entered what was believed to be a closed military zone without permission. The military had no prior knowledge of him going there, due to his refusal to coordinate with them. The vehicle they stopped was unknown to them and therefore provoked suspicion. The moment details of the Congressman's identity were cleared, he was free to go. At no point was the congressman, or any member of his party, threatened by the soldiers, or civilians bearing arms.
4) To add insult to injury - the Congressman used this instance as an opportunity to tout "genocide" and "apartheid" libels to the press, propelling himself to the center of yet another anti-Israel media frenzy.
The facts don't lie - this was a cheap, anticipated provocation, that could, and should have been avoided.
5) Calling me a liar won’t change the facts. I’d be happy to host Congressman Khanna at our embassy for an in-depth conversation on his grievances regarding Israel.

Leah, a Melbourne mother, sought psychological support after two of her cousins were murdered on October 7, 2023. Her counselor reportedly criticized her for discussing her family's loss without expressing equal sympathy for people in Gaza.
"This is not a competition of tragedies. I simply needed help dealing with my grief."

Hamas captivity survivor @ArgamaniNoa with a Yamam fighter who took part in the heroic rescue that brought her home, reunited at a ceremony at Israel's President's residence marking 50 years since Operation Entebbe, Israel's legendary 1976 hostage rescue in Uganda.
On June 8, 2024, in a daring operation in Gaza, the IDF, Shin Bet, and the Israel Police's elite Yamam unit rescued four hostages held by Hamas since October 7, 2023: Noa Argamani, Shlomi Ziv, Almog Meir Jan, and Andrey Kozlov.
Commander Arnon Zamora, 36, a Yamam fighter of exceptional courage, was critically wounded during the rescue and later succumbed to his injuries.
May his memory be a blessing forever.

On Sunday, 120 years to the day after French Captain Alfred Dreyfus was exonerated, a statue in his honor was installed at its permanent home outside the Cour de Cassation in Paris - the very court that cleared his name.
Dreyfus, a Jewish French army officer falsely accused of treason in 1894, became a symbol of institutional antisemitism - and his story profoundly shaped Theodor Herzl, who witnessed the public hatred firsthand and went on to found modern Zionism. Justice was a long time coming. But it came.

A Tribute to Senator Lindsey Graham:
StandWithUs mourns the passing of Senator Lindsey Graham, a remarkable public servant and one of Israel's greatest champions in the United States Senate.
For decades, Senator Graham stood as an unwavering advocate for freedom, democracy, and the enduring alliance between the United States and Israel. He understood that the security of America and Israel is deeply intertwined, and he dedicated his career to strengthening that partnership while standing firmly against antisemitism and those who threaten the values of the free world.
Israeli leaders remembered him not only as a steadfast ally, but as a true friend. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called him "a great friend of Israel and a cherished friend of mine." President Isaac Herzog described him as "a great friend of Israel and a great American patriot."
Those words reflect more than diplomatic respect; they speak to a lifetime of conviction, courage, and loyalty. Senator Graham consistently demonstrated that moral clarity matters. He spoke out against antisemitism when others remained silent, defended Israel's right to live in peace and security, and championed the democratic values shared by both nations.
His legacy extends far beyond legislation. He earned the admiration of friends and allies around the world because he led with principle, forged lasting relationships across borders, and never wavered in his commitment to America's alliance with Israel.
His passing leaves a profound void. The Jewish community has lost a trusted friend whose steadfast support never wavered, especially during moments of profound challenge. Yet his example of principled leadership, steadfast friendship, and unwavering commitment to the U.S.-Israel alliance will continue to inspire future generations.
May his family find comfort, and may his memory always be a blessing. And may his legacy endure through the lasting bonds of friendship between the United States and Israel.

@yadvashem A simple comb became a symbol of love, resilience, and survival. Stories like Rola's remind us that every Holocaust artifact carries a deeply human story that must never be forgotten. 🕯️
English

"This comb saved us. Each of us pushed a piece into our mouths and that way we finished the soup."
- Rola (Sochaczewski) Serviansky
Lova Sochaczewski made a comb from an aluminum jug for his sister Rola's 21st birthday in the Lodz ghetto; he engraved it with the date #OTD 13 July 1944.
When the Lodz ghetto was liquidated the following month, Rola, her sister Fira and her mother Rivka-Rachel were deported to Auschwitz-Birkenau and from there to a labor camp.
In her testimony Rola relates how, in the absence of a spoon or fork, the comb served as a utensil and helped them to take pieces of solid food from the soup pot.
