The most likely outcome @ManfredWeber visit to Hungary tomorrow is: 1 KDNP Mep leaves and 7 TISZA Meps join the EPP group. Why: - HU gov minister Gulyás made it clear today that they don't see Orbanist KDNP Mep @HolvenyiGyorgy sitting together with enemy TISZA members.

Important!! NATO acknowledges that Hungary is unwilling to financially or militarily support Ukraine. In return, Hungary is not blocking any efforts by other NATO allies that differ from the HU position - this is the essence of the Stolenberg-Orban meeting in Budapest.

*Orbán has 2 years to prepare for the next elections. He still has the core Fidesz voters and his media machine, but the budget is in bad shape and people feel this. *Remains to be seen if Tisza Party will keep its momentum and support for the next two years. Interesting times!

*The success of the Tisza Party means Fidesz has a right-wing challenger. *In Brussels, 7 Tisza MEPs will likely join influential @EPPGroup - this will put pressure on Fidesz to find a political group or be sidelined again in Brussels.

My takeaways for #Hungary EU elex: *2024 could mark the start of the erosion of Orban's power, Fidesz-KDNP got their worst result since 2006, 11 mandates, down from 13. *Still Orban has more mandates than the whole opposition and two years to prepare for the next elections.
