He credits early "diversity" exposure + explicit lessons in equality/inclusion/justice with saving him from radicalization as a white guy. But exposure to diversity pushes plenty of people in the exact opposite direction. So why do we end up drawing such wildly different conclusions from the same experiences?

Have i been there? Yes, often...I'm from that region. The beauty about the above post is that it doesn't just come from my own experiences(in North America and when i go to Balkans..so i can compare and contrast), it's also backed by evolutionary biology, psychology, philosophy, etc. Take care.

Not quite what i meant; I have an affinity to my Lebanese heritage, excellent food, descended from the ancient Phoenicians, beautiful postcard picturesque landscape. I find it really upsetting to see how disconnected people are from their roots, especially here in England. Everything that went into making this country great genuinely means nothing to some people and it baffles me. The pride I carry within me knowing I’m English is like nothing else. Couldn’t imagine feeling any other way. Tis a blessing.
