Such very sad news abt Gboyega Odubanjo. I zoom hosted a workshop for @STWevents where he was special guest. I was so impressed with his insights, and such a warm, gentle human being. A terrible loss to friends family and literature.

Covering the 1989 Velvet Revolution in Czechoslovakia was one of the highest points of my life. Now, strolling through the streets, it’s wonderful to see the peace and prosperity— compared with the fear and poverty under Soviet control.
