Misandry is women venting. Misogyny has institutions, laws, traditions and festivals behind it. Misandry is like old women gossiping at the back of the church. Misogyny is what happened in Ozoro today. One is a reaction while other is a system.

Sometimes I sit with the reality of how unkind this world is to women, and it breaks my heart. It is one thing for the world to fail women. It is another thing entirely for people to organise cruelty against women and give it a cultural name. That is barbarity! That is evil!

According to multiple reports and videos circulating online, today is said to be the day of this festival in the Ozoro community, and girls are wvrned not to go outside. It is alleged that any girl seen outside could be att@ck£d and r@p£d by groups of men. Foreigners who are unaware of this situation have reportedly fallen v!ctim as well. There is Delta state university in Ozoro, and many female students may not be fully aware of the d@nger. It is distvrbing that something like this could be tolerated in society. This is heartbreaking, and urgent action needs to be taken.
