10 years ago today, I was working a weekend shift @seattletimes when word came in of a landslide near a small town named Oso.
It turned out to be the deadliest landslide in U.S. history.
It also became an exhibit for why local journalism matters in a time of crisis.

@The7Rob The report says research from this year suggests that the world could be committing to 12-20 meters of sea level rise if global temperatures remain at 2 degrees C. That melt process will take hundreds or thousands of years to complete. Rate of melt remains a big question.
