@NotJubei @ZenkaiGoose I am ready to pay $20 for an update to MCC to add more maps to Halo 3 specifically those by @Zee_Naught as well as other features like Thrust, map veto, and reworked ranked modes. But nice chatting with you, see you on the ring.

@EvanReakes @ZenkaiGoose Infinite also doesn’t punish you for sprinting like 5 don’t know if people remember you couldn’t heal when sprinting in halo 5 like you can in infinite my personal opinion is we don’t go back to halo 3 we go back to 5 and innovate on 5 I can’t see a halo 3 in 2026 MCC updated

@NotJubei @ZenkaiGoose That was a great feature. The curbslide thing in Infinite was an attempt to continue the formula of sprint, slide, and thrust from 5 to give Halo a new identity. Sadly, I believe the rest of the combat suffered. Not to mention that ugly jiggle peak thing.

@EvanReakes @ZenkaiGoose Because the game was innovative it punished you for using sprint encouraged classic game play but understands it’s something that needs to be there to make it more halo rather then a call of duty featuring halo they gave you spartan dash

@Naded I got to play some of Infinite's maps early during Halo 5. I felt like if I was not saying I enjoyed something, I would not be invited again, even just subconsciously. But also it was Halo 5 > so I enjoy that more than Infinite in almost all aspects.

I really don't agree with community members or content creators working with game developers before a game is released. I've been on both sides of this, and I'm heavily against content creators benefiting in any way from the developers. It creates division and lets people use their special NDA position to gain leverage over everyone else in the community. Then you've got a whole team of shills hyping up the game and praising everything the company does just to keep those benefits flowing. I don't think it's wise for game developers to keep paying—or indirectly paying—people to manufacture false hype. It's a disgrace. We should get back to making good-quality games instead of the corporate slop that's produced for massive in-game profits rather than for the actual gamers and the game's own community. Game companies that run these paid shill teams will keep building fake environments just to sell the illusion that the game will be amazing — all while killing honest community feedback in the process.

@NotJubei @ZenkaiGoose Halo 5 multiplayer was the only game with sprint from Halo that I enjoyed But there was a playlist in Halo 5 without sprint, and it was a lot of fun even without unrefined map design. Something similar can be said for Halo Reach's no bloom no sprint.

@NotJubei @ZenkaiGoose Valid point, can you give some ground to the argument of classic Halo MCC (no sprint Halo) with more developer support surpassing modern Halo (sprint)?

@ZenkaiGoose The image shared is comparing 5 halo games to one and proves nothing 1 game has 6 campaigns firefight spec ops 5 unique multiplayer experiences compared to 1 halo game the screen shot doesn’t add fact to what you said it’s a disingenuous comparison

In its core Minecraft is a colonialist game and I’m tired of pretending otherwise. As the player, you extract natural resources from the land and transform it to suit your needs. Biomes act as development frontiers, with indigenous villages as trade outposts. There’s an emphasis on tools and building a settlement with fellow colonists. The untamed environment is framed as inherently hostile and demands domestication through exclusionary perimeters and lighting. As a game, Minecraft was fundamentally informed by Western colonial experiences, whereby settlers treated distant lands as peripheries ripe for extraction and colonization. No other society apart from the West could have produced it.

I think we need to build this. I designed this below image, representing Lewis and Clark on the Mississippi in the style of Argonath. At $1 Billion or more, I think it can be done.

@evolved117 You do realize that Bungie put sprint in Reach not 343 right? also it might have broken Halo 2 but that's Halo 2, it didn't need sprint with all the other movement bugs 😂

Reminder that if a good Halo game ever launches content complete, has an amazing social ecosystem, non-egregious monetization, and a global battles mode, it would absolutely wipe the floor with the current FPS market The potential will always be there. Waiting. Maybe one day.

@Jordan456257099 I continued to finically support new Halos. But playing MCC (1, 2, 3, & H2A) vs MCC (Reach & 4) vs 5 vs Infinite convinces me to not spend money on another Halo with sprint being the primary design.

The recent sprint debate is interesting. I just don't like argument of "It's been 16 years" I can find both valid arguments for and against sprint. Instead, people are bringing up "It's been 16 years"

You know what? In the sake of fairness, I'll try giving the classic Halo trilogy the same critical view I have for post-2010 Halo And to be clear, Bungie's Halo titles are some of my favorite games of all time, these are just nitpicks. If I was listing positives this post would be VERY long lmao Halo: Combat Evolved (2001, Xbox) - Jumping feels awful and floaty. There's a noticable delay when you jump and land, and it sucks - Fall damage can be very annoying, how the hell does a cyborg supersoldier take damage when falling 40 feet? - Vehicle physics aren't great, getting killed by a 1mph Warthog isn't fun - Warthog controls kinda terribly, feels like you're always driving on ice - The Scorpion can't drive sideways - The Scorpion's cannon and machine gun have RIDICULOUS spread, it's impossible to hit anything even remotely far away - Not being able to drive Wraiths, use Fuel Rod Cannons, or use Energy Swords is kinda lame - The second half of the campaign is just reused levels from the first half - The Library is a massive, boring slog - Marines just kind of... disappear after 343 Guilty Spark. No fanfare, no narrative, just *poof* gone Halo 2 (2004, Xbox) - Legendary is extremely unfair and unnecessarily difficult. It's not the "fun" kind of challenging like Legendary in Halo 1, it's just annoying - While technically in higher fidelity than Halo 1, the overall visual presentation is somewhat lackluster compared to what came before - How Master Chief got back to Earth is never explained in game, needing outside material to understand the gap between two games isn't a good thing (even tho First Strike is a great book) - The massive cliffhanger at the end, as well as the whole last third of the game being missing - For a bustling city, Old/New Mombasa sure lack actual people - The Plasma Pistol was massively downgraded, the overcharge is only good for shield stripping and nothing else - The Brutes are just massive bullet sponges, if you don't have a headshot weapon good luck lmao - Boss fights, while a good idea, are severely undercooked - Shade Turret design was downgraded - Gravemind is a massive slog - The Spectre's side seats are kind of annoying to get into - Brute Plasma Rifle is a lazy reskin in place of a truly unique weapon - Sentinels as a faction are very underwhelming, they could use at least 1 or 2 more different types of enemies Halo 3 (2007, Xbox 360) - The Prophet of Truth's voice actor was downgraded, along with his character writing - In retrospect, the story really does feel like what it is; the original 3rd act of Halo 2 stretched out to a full game - Energy Sword gameplay is MASSIVELY downgraded, the loss of sword flying :( - The Magnum is pretty awful, the rate of fire is insanely slow - The Spartan Laser is really overpowered against vehicles in MP - The slowdown of the Cortana/Gravemind moments is very annoying - Vehicle combat sections can be a massive pain on Legendary - The Rocket Launcher losing the lock-on functionality from Halo 2 sucks - Gauss Warthog is extremely overpowered in MP - Mongoose Mowdown is an awful achievement (This is just off the top of my head, I'm sure there's plenty more valid criticism)
