Want some #Battlefield hot takes? Here goes: • Battlefield 1 was an immersive and beautiful game, but was shallow in terms of gameplay and skill expression. • If your basis for a “good” Battlefield game is “BF2: Project Reality”: you don’t like Battlefield games. You just liked Battlefield when it was taken down a more “milsim” approach by the community. • Levolution more often than not, made maps worse and was above all else, was a back of the box “spectacle” rather than a healthy addition to gameplay. • Bad Company 2 was the game that nailed destruction and found the perfect mix of being able to level maps, but then created cover as a result of said destruction. Every game since hasn’t been able to find that magic again. • Battlefield gunplay has always been at its best with a requirement to burst first via spread mechanics. BF4 was the last game to truly nail this side of the game. Did I miss anything?

@YaMateGrunty @Medieval_Right @SteveChillGame Also if you find the characters in Reach to be one dimensional then you clearly weren't paying attention to every other Halo game. Also not every character needs to be complex for a story to be good. Most characters in Halo are one dimensional. It's a sci-fi shooter...

When Halo 4 released, it destroyed the expectation and excitement for the franchise in the gaming community at large, overnight turning away lifelong Halo fans forever. After a misstep in Reach, 4 was an opportunity to rectify mistakes. 343i fumbled the bag, big-time.

Halo Hot Take🔥 Halo 5 is the best Halo multiplayer because it has the most hype/entertainment ceiling due to the high speed gameplay/button combos/fun animations, it has the most vast sandbox with so many useful weapons, it has the biggest skill gap/ceiling, solid medals, and also has many top quality maps/gametypes. If you think about it, Halo 5 is really just classic Halo with 8 different starting utilities: 1. Sprint 2. Clamber 3. Slide 4. Thrust 5. Stabilize (Such a good mechanic btw) 6. Ground Pound 7. Charge 8. Spring Jump Everything else is about standard Halo, controlling the map and getting the weapons. Not sure why so many people always say "Halo 5 isn't Halo" when it's just classic Halo with modernized starting mechanics. It still is equal starting loadouts and doesn't have any annoying equipment on the map. The starting mechanics are all balanced well. Gamers that don't try Halo 5 on the Xbox Series X are gonna miss out on potentially the best high level cyber dueling Halo multiplayer experience of all-time! It plays so smoothly on the Series X! Fun fact: Halo 5 introduced the pinging feature. By pressing the d-pad your service tag will flash to let your teammates know something is happening. In Halo Infinite it got advanced further to actual pinging locations on the map.

Hot Halo Take🔥 The regular game/settings of Halo 3 take more skill and have more depth than the MLG settings. MLG settings were changed to give movement and damage a 10% boost, one of the reasons being to make the online experience feel better and attract more players. More fun to be able to move faster and get kills easier, especially for how low the FOV was and how tough it was to get kills online back in the Xbox 360 days. Plus, shield recharge time was lowered by 10% so it was even easier to finish off kills. In hindsight, none of these changes necessarily made the game better in terms of competitiveness or skill gap. If anything it made the game easier. 2 shot beatdowns with the BR offer zero depth to the melee system, and kills become so much more effortless since damage is increased across the board combined with slower shield recharge. The regular game of Halo 3 offers the entire weapon sandbox to utilize, a more in-depth melee system across all the weapons, Battle Rifle melee battles take more skill since it's an 8-bullet beatdown requiring the player to time the melee mid-burst to maximize quickness, more items with equipment that also introduces the equipment jumping mechanic. Maps at normal movement speed feel better scaled as well, since that's what they were designed for. I personally enjoy playing the regular version of Halo 3 just as much, if not more than MLG settings, it's much more balanced in terms of damage and has way more depth to the game! What do you think?
