If you had a line of humans that collectively have the same mass as Earth and you stacked them head to toe it would be approximately 14 million light-years long. This calculation shocked me. I would've guessed something much shorter.

@Cayhlebs @47People Most important would be Dumbledore who orchestrated all of it. Snape was his right hand man but he needed Dumbledore's guidance.

@47People Most important character in the plot to bring down Voldemort. The twist is actually in the ownership of the elder wand. Draco owned it, but Voldemort assumed it was snape because he killed Dumbledore. He wouldn’t have killed Snape if he knew that the wand belonged to Draco.

Snape ended Dumbledore for 3 reasons; to secure his double agent role with Voldemort, to save draco from being k!lled by Voldemort because he wasn't going to k!ll Dumbledore and also Dumbledore was suffering and dy!ng slowly from the cursed ring. Snape is probably the most important character in the whole story.

If you ever think you’re having a bad day, just think for a moment about Sydney Sweeney’s poor brother. Active Duty Air Force surrounded by degenerates while having the most famous sex symbol since Marilyn Monroe as his SISTER. Fucking brutal. Shoutout to Trent Sweeney, man.

@Evan_EveryDay @thatdoginmem3 @axiochrono Yeah half of 120 million copies is a fucktonne of copies lol. Also the first book sold the best because it’s… the first book lol. Not the tone or quality! Fellowship of the Ring sold better than Return of the King because it’s a real commitment to get there!

It’s fantasy targeted at children. Kids don’t think “I want to see Harry Potter learning algebra” they think “I want to imagine going to Hogwarts and learning to pet hippogriffs instead of maths” why does Twitter always think failures of imagination are world-building issues?
Axio 🔶@axiochrono

One of the funniest things about Harry Potter worldbuilding is that there's no maths class at Hogwarts, so everyone in the wizarding world presumably has, at best, a Year 7's understanding of maths.

Daniel Radcliffe says fans should stop comparing the new Harry Potter cast to him, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint, and let them grow into the roles. “Don’t ask about us… I would like not to be weird spectral phantoms in these children’s lives.”

@axiochrono @sheebadigeebies Not even halfway through. It started in the 3rd book. And the plot and worldbuilding is too weak to justify such a massive shift in tone. I can't use the same standards to judge Paw Patrol and Game of Thrones.

I used to think this too until I re-read the books. The movies failed to capture Ron’s intelligence and charm. Hermione, an only child from a muggle family, would be drawn to the large, magical Weasley family. She also is not meant to be drop-dead gorgeous like Emma Watson, and Ron is supposed to be very tall and become quite attractive. Her relationship with Ron is a slow burn, but it makes complete sense.
The Moonlight Warrior 🌙@BlackMajikMan90

The main change that I want from the Harry Potter HBO Show is Harry and Hermione ending up together at the end. Even J. K. Rowling has admitted she made a mistake with putting her with Ron. This change needs to happen.

@RachelMoiselle Every childhood hopefully has something near and dear to them that can't be recreated. It's part of the magic of growing up. You can never expect to feel that feeling again.

Honestly the new Harry Potter show could be superb in every way and still it won’t ever be on the league of the original films. While the Harry Potter story will always be timeless, the specific decade between 2001 and 2011 when the films and later books were released, was a specific moment in time that can never be replicated. I'm thankful to have grown up in the Harry Potter era: queuing up at midnight to buy the new books, dressing up to go see the new films. It was a zeitgeist of magic and hope that will never be recreated. You really just had to be there, as they say, and I’m so very grateful I was.

@BBlmpf @Frickerbasket @iWomansplainer If we can't have nice things in real life then we may as well have them in fiction. I'm happy that Harry and Hermione got incorporated into the Weasley family.

@Jarkeo21 @WeThrones Star Wars is wounded not destroyed. Give it the right treatment and the fans will turn out. Though I admit TFA numbers are out of reach for at least a generation.

@Evan_EveryDay @WeThrones Yeah, that billions went to fund flop after flop and within 8 years that IP was destroyed. The same can definitely happen to Harry Potter and remenber Stars Wars had 3 generations of fans supporting it and it still crashed.

@Jarkeo21 @WeThrones I'm talking about how this show will do big numbers and it doesn't sound like you disagree. Whether or not the show will be a long term success is another story.

@Jarkeo21 @WeThrones If the show is bad like the sequels then it could turn itself into a joke but not before it gets off to an incredibly popular start. Notice every film in the sequel trilogy still made over a billion dollars. Harry Potter is too big to fail.

@WeThrones 12 years ago Stars Wars was a juggernaut that just printed money and now its a punchline to a bad joke. No franchise is a guaranteed home run anymore. The Snape thing shows they care more about meeting award show criteria than entertaining the fans. This approach never ends well.

@ericbkrause @Huff4Congress Did you watch it with the same TV and lighting? For this style to be watchable you need a dim room and a high quality OLED display.

These are real screenshots from the new Harry Potter trailer. Whoever made this sort of dark-on-black-at-night cinematography style popular at HBO needs to be deported immediately. This is unwatchable. I literally cannot watch it. I cannot see what’s happening.

China’s solar power plant in Dunhuang uses around 12,000 mirrors to focus sunlight onto a central tower, heating molten salt to extreme temperatures. That heat is stored and used to generate electricity on demand, including after sunset.
