Our team @AAOTAS engaged in teambuilding using the @KaganOnline structure Team Charades. Intentional teambuilding lays the foundation for stronger academic interactions. As one of the Brain-Friendly Teaching Principles, Safety is essential, and teambuilding helps create that environment. When students feel safe, participation increases and learning follows. During a training today, we used the @KaganOnline structure Similarity Groups to build relationships. The @AAOTAS team connected with colleagues who share a favorite restaurant. I’m looking forward to seeing this structure in classrooms this week!

@chuckcook I would have disengaged too. With that said, I think this would have worked out fine.

Many of you didn't see this clip if you didn't watch my full video this morning, but I think its important to see. I had an interaction with a motorcycle on one of my UPL's this morning, and I chose to make a safety critical disengagement. It was close, but I wasn't willing to risk this interaction. The comments I am getting on YouTube, are very engaging, so I figured I would include the @X community for additional thoughts and feedback. @Tesla_AI take a good look.

5th grade is reviewing for their module test by using the structure Find-Someone-Who to review noun and verb concepts. The @KaganOnline book Cooperative Learning & Grammar has many wonderful resources for this structure and many others #kagancooperativelearning #kaganmodelschool

@MrZachG I think it is because many leaders aren’t quite sure what effective instruction is. They are busy people with incredibly challenging jobs, most of which isn’t leading instruction. Leaders need professional learning in instruction too!

Most teachers are given copious amounts of guidance on how to use their gradebook, how to fill out a self-evaluation template, and a laundry list of clerical, procedural, managerial tasks that make little difference to student outcomes and... Zero guidance on effective teaching.
