I think one of the problems of "getting started" in open source is that ppl are overlooking microcontributions. You don't have to do a big PR or even take a good first issue. A good place to start is in the community. Think about it like learning a new skill. Read the docs, hang around for a while, ask questions, use the project, and then progress to answering questions, writing about the project, triaging, and contributing PRs.
Not everyone is expected to make a PR in their first couple of days at a new job. Invest in growing with the project.
English

@BekahHW Not started yet, but microcontributions sounds like a good starting place...just need to find a project community to join
English

@Evans_webDev Have you started with microcontributions? Joined a project community?

My first encounter with programming was Java, needless to say, I struggled a lot. I am now a JavaScript Developer. I have started learning Java again from the start, I want to see if I find it easier now I have developer knowledge. #Java #programming

I want to go back and try learning Java, any recommendations for resources, tutorials, YouTubers?
