Gutless decision from @HurstAthletics to cut the @HurstMHockey program. Just got out of the meeting with the AD. Gave us zero answers why. This team has been a D1 program for over 20 years and they decide to keep all the other sports which have only been D1 for 1 year @TeamECH

Just weeks ago I was repping for the boys. Now the program is gone. The players deserved better than this, @MercyhurstU. No answers? That’s bs. Three NCAA Tournament appearances. A strong coach in Peffall ready to take over. Just beyond sad. This program brought visibility to the school for 25+ years. That shouldn’t be forgotten.

This was posted 24 hours before they announced they cut the program. I say “announced” because the decision was made before yesterday, and they still asked for hockey donors to give money. Embarrassing by the Mercyhurst administration. Feel for the players and coaches.
