Honestly I don't know how we thought KSP2 even looked good, the artstyle for parts fell victim to modern games having flat textures and the celestial bodies looked ugly.
The game overall looks soulless, no other way to describe it and the "but early access" point doesn't even work as KSA in it's extremely early state looks several folds better and I'd honestly argue JNO looks better.
KSP1's visuals are just superior in everyway besides lighting, it's such a shame what they did to this franchise

KSP2 had some really amazing ideas for the gameplay with colonies, and the game almost used no KSP1 code. it’s true that they were forced to use it at the beginning of the development but later down the line they refactored it forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/topic/226588-d…

@ScottLikedSLS "KSP2 was a good game" the devs had no visions for the game and they were using original code of KSP1, extended time wasn't changing this.
The game sucked, simple as that.

Let's not pretend KSP2 had only 1 good feature, there were plenty of great and awesome concepts abkut KSP2 like:
-Realistic parachute animations
-Eve actually being a super purple world rather than vaguely purple
-Jool being a super densely atmospheric rocky world and not an actual gas giant,
-Dres not being incredibly boring
The entire KSC was beautiful and laid out incredibly
-The fun Easter eggs like the iconic Mun or Bust lander from the KSP1 menu screen actually being in game and in lore for KSP2, and the Minmas ritual lol
-Even tho the horrifically low anti aliasing tanked the games visuals for literally no reason, KSP2 lighting and shadows were incredibly pretty.
KSP2 was a good game that Got forced to release far too early and then cancelled just as it started genuinely improving and getting huge plans in flow

KSP 2's only good feature has finally made it to KSP The Rescored mod adds new music to the game that changes based on situation/altitude/speed It's very early in dev and only has music for Kerbin (which I think was actually written for Laythe) but it's worth keeping an eye on

Reminder: the spiritual successor to KSP is called “Kitten Space Agency” and runs flawlessly on Windows and Linux without wacky nasty physics bugs. They wrote the fucking physics engine from scratch. In alpha now but you can download test builds for free!
