@FunkyStrong69 @FinalMasonry You should. A lot of shmup players also play Bmups as well. They both take careful analysis, creative strats and practice to play well.

@FinalMasonry All this discussion of bmups in these circles on Twitter definitely makes me want to play it tho! That + Punisher. I have them on Steam for whenever I need a break from shmups.

The "arcade games were just hard to scam you out of your coins" claim is only about 30% true. The other 70% of the story is "arcade rats back in the day (especially in Japan) were so crazy fucking good that the games had to protect themselves using difficulty."

@MrMidnight1188 I would have done he same. Arguably a SFC with 20games and x2 of those stick would give you more bang for the buck than an AES. You’d eventually get bored of the AES and would be stuck with a low single digit collection for a small spec bump. Also, the SFC has better games imo.

A little bit of useless info for you but we used to have a game import shop here in Edinburgh and they had an AES for sale. Back then I had a Super Famicom with 2 XE-1’s + 20 games. I was offered a swap + give them £200 and I could walk away with the AES. I had to say no 😩

@FinalMasonry Aw man that was unlucky! Yeah, you wanna use the background as spawn markers to take away any uncertainty or surprise. Ideally you wanted to walk just past the 2nd grouped tree and do a back-jump, you had plenty of time :) You can rely on spawn gfx markers 100% of the time on FF.

@HotbloodedRebel @FinalMasonry Yeah, it’s a bit different to Cody/Guy, you need to change direction after 1 punch. The timing is tighter, you’re almost chaining in the next hit, if you do it too slow he breaks out and do it too quick and you don’t change direction. It’s pretty easy after some practice, though

@Ex_Mosquito @FinalMasonry Interesting. You do it one punch at a time? When I try it with Cody, I try to do two punches in the string then turn. Your way looks a lot easier.

@FinalMasonry Yeah defo, if you're not going for score of course. Just be sure to press attack the exact same time you change direction, eg: Punch-Left+Punch-Right+Punch-Left+Punch... repeat

@Ex_Mosquito haha is it actually easier? I never learned it and instead focus on loops and other kinds of offense patterns so that I don't have to worry about losing control to an execution drop

@FinalMasonry I would’ve moved down off their centre line to give yourself some breathing room and then possible go for the loop. I think the problem escalated because you were lined up with dangerous enemies on both sides at the same time.

@Ex_Mosquito Thanks! I was focused on trying to get them on the same side but then got overrun. Maybe for this fight i should just focus on the loop instead?
