In 2008, we were acquired by industry experts Exacompta Clairefontaine, a family-owned group known worldwide for their expertise in the filing, arts and crafts sector and based in Paris.  The company was then rebranded ExaClair, a portmanteau of the group's two leading brands.

This year we celebrate 125 years since ExaClair formed, but the story began with a different name: Tollit & Harvey Ltd.  At age 25, Charles Clifton Tollit and his friend and colleague John Harvey gave up jobs as managers of stationery shops and enter into business themselves.

If you wonder where our plastic comes from, all the PP we use actually comes from plastic waste from households.  So things like water bottles and caps, yoghurt pots and even the containers of punnets of strawberries all go in to making our recycled PP products.
