At first glance — and depending on the course — Si Woo Kim has one of the most old-school bags on the PGA Tour. Driver 3W 5W 3-iron through PW Just two wedges — 52° and 60° You almost never see that setup anymore. But after talking with Callaway Tour rep Kellen Watson, it turns out Kim’s relationship with gear is both old school and also not at all. An Update For the Board: New year, same mission, destroy Big Polyester. We’ve decided it’s critical to oversee the entire supply chain from yarn to spinning, dyeing, and cut-and-sew. Our first shirts will be 100% Supima cotton jersey, fast-following with piqué and additional colors. If the first one goes okay, we’ll try to do a monthly capsule to get going. All sourcing and manufacturing will be in America. Relationships are now in place across the full supply chain as we march toward our first launch. We’re making 1,000 units, which is crazy. An expert I spoke with today said the big brands left U.S. cotton because they only care about price, not quality. They can race to the bottom. We’ll fight our way to the top. I’ll personally oversee every step and travel as needed. First trip is in two weeks to Los Angeles to get hands on with some of our partners. We’ll fast-follow with more colors, shorts, pants, and a crewneck. If we sell, great. If not, we took our shot. It’s been sad to me to see haters among us emerge saying this can’t be done, but I’m more motivated than ever to deliver or die trying. From Yarn to Shirt. To the gates of Valhalla. No outside capital (yet). No fancy “brand” consultants. Speaking truth to power and fighting for a dying culture of tradition and greatness. The American dream is not dead. Don't ever buy clubs from Club Champion/ Golf Galaxy etc. Scam factories. Go there to get the specs down and find the right shafts. Then? Go on eBay and find the heads/shafts you want. Then take to your home club to build them and/or build them yourself. Congrats. You've now built your set of clubs for 30% of the price quoted by Club Champion.

A sign that the best season of golf is upon us…. Fall golf in the Northeast. The first tree to change colors annually at Sleepy Hollow is just shy of the 18th green. Dew sweeping morning rounds, a slight chill in the air that then (usually) turns into a perfect 50°-60° day, firm conditions, fast greens. Although it’s short lived, there’s just nothing like fall in the NE.
