Successful settlement of pink sea fan larvae for Kaila Wheatley Kornblum with @AquariumCurator and the team at the Horniman Museum aquarium: three perfect early stage fans - just a single polyp each at this stage - first time we have observed this in this temperate coral species.

Working with Jamie Craggs and his team at the Horniman Museum in London, Kaila W K (Exeter) has successfully managed to observe the pink sea fan, Eunicella verrucosa, spawning; the first time that this has been reported in a temperate soft coral.

@BD_Stew Hummh, this is not a 'find'. The existence and extent of this bed has long been known to locals, authorities and researchers. It is/was one of the key reasons why the proposed dredging of Falmouth harbour has been so controversial over the years (as previously covered by BBC)!
