This Antarctic season is coming to an end, and for Puerto Williams it was very succesful. By October the new Hotel "The Cormorant at 55 South" is going to revolutionize Antarctic voyages, transforming the airport in an Antarctic gateway for sustainable tourism. 🇨🇱🇦🇶🐧❄️🛫⚓️

@ExperienceCape Que le parece segundo nombre de Puerto Williams de forma natural seria Puerto Hornos por su cercanía y relación al Cabo de Hornos es algo que Chile no aprovecha del extremo sur para dar a conocer mas :)

And the Antarctic season is officially over. The next season will start in October, with the opening of the new Hotel, which will transform Puerto Williams into the most sustainable and ecological Antarctic gateway. And also there will be new supporting infrastructure. 🇨🇱🇦🇶🐧

And although the Antarctic season is over, and all the cruiseships with homeport in Puerto Williams are gone, works for the next season are moving ahead. The new cruiseship terminal is expanding its ability to serve ships up to 260m, with new dolphins and mooring posts. 🇨🇱🇦🇶

And today the polar yacht "Amundsen" departed Puerto Williams 🇨🇱. 8 students from CEDENA's sailing school will be part of the voyage. Next stop: Stanley 🇫🇰. This is part of the conmemoration of the 150th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Chile 🇨🇱 and Falklands 🇫🇰.

@ExperienceCape I was on the first cruise(silversea) that went out of Puerto Williams in Nov 2021. Y’all even sent me a video of our flight from Santiago landing. It was cool to see people lining the runway to welcome the plane. Best of luck, hope you guys have great success.
