How’s this a reach? Look at the entire landscape of CFB. Sure there are some players who have supernatural type abilities and hit the ground running, but all teams can point to many players who were overlooked but commit to their team and the team commits to them and they get molded into the philosophy and mindset of the program. My point was Matt bought into the program, stuck it out through the end, and it shows on the field for his first collegiate game ever. Give him proper time to develop and he would’ve made a huge impact.

“Give a guy a chance” No, give a mountaineer a chance, any kid who can come on the mountain with a dream and never give up even when things don’t go his way is a true mountaineer. Matt Wilson should’ve seen playing time from the ODU game forward at a minimum, if not before that. Pride and passion for the black and gold was shown Monday both on the field and in the locker room by him

@JeffL1968 Chances to me seem slim, Matt saw something through to the end that he started, but being put on the back burner all season would leave a sour taste in anyone’s mouth and take a hell if a lot of persuasion to return in my opinion

The FBS playoffs should do what the FCS does: An actual 24 team playoff. 10 Conference Champs (autobids) + 14 at-large bids. Top 8 teams get 1st rd byes. 1st round is 9v24, 10v23, 11v22 etc. Higher seeds host all games through the semis. Champ. game is played at neutral site.
