A Nigerian is likely to play in the Grand Slam this year, his name is Seun Ogunsakin! Currently ranked 74 in world juniors, he narrowly missed out on playing at the AO Juniors this year but he’s likely to be in the Main Draw of the Junior French Open & Wimbledon 🤲🏽

Anybody watching the Australian Open in the USA can watch it live on ESPN Deportes Vivo. If you are an Optimum cable subscriber, in the New York area, it’s on channel 227 (next to Tennis Channel on 226).

@jon_wertheim @atptour Excellent! But they forgot to mention that he played tennis at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas when it was a division 1 college. Great guy!

Front row tickets for the first day of the WTA finals in Riyadh are $22. That’s a good price for 4 matches.

It was nice and sunny about 20 minutes ago at the @DavisCup at Delray Beach, with the doubles being played, and Czechia was ahead in the second set after losing the first set in a tiebreaker. Suddenly the siren went off for lightening and everybody had to evacuate the stadium.

@WillBoucek Let’s all cross our fingers that when the rain comes, it will be quick, and the courts will be dry for the first rubber!🤞

Thanks to everyone who followed & followed along during this year's US Open. I know the week after a slam (especially the USO) is a bit of a deadzone as tennis junkies take a breather and locals tune out until next year. But, tennis never stops. So, be sure to stick around!

Anybody else pulling their hair out with this men’s doubles final? Wow, at 40 years old, Zeballos and Granollers are serving for the championship.

It was a smaller, more intimate circle of full-time tennis writers and photographers back then. Art Seitz, Mel DiGiacomo, Michael Cole, Carol Newsom and more. Back when the players could hang out freely on the club terrace, watching matches without getting mobbed by spectators.

@OpenCourt OMG, great story. I can’t imagine the pain of fracturing your ribs from coughing. And then buying your own ultrasound machine to monitor the healing. What a trooper! Troopers, plural.

Everybody is posting their favorite Cliff Drysdale stories, so I will too. I was covering The South African Davis Cup team in the early 1990s when Cliff was team captain. He was like a father figure, making sure I was safe in the wilds of Africa. A true gentleman.
