Still trying to figure out who, exactly, the "Establishment" is tbh. And fighting the good fight every day - often in vain.

@OpenCourt She's risen to the top of my favorite commentators. Very balanced and thought out analysis and she has such a great voice. I can listen to her speak all day.

It doesn't happen nearly often enough but the TC broadcast team for Fonseca-Maroszan is .... Chanda Rubin and Martina. Rubin's evolution into a quality PXP commentator rather than just a former player yapping has been impressive to watch. She's solid. Pleasant voice too.

@kvitovaserena Not logistically possible for her. And they don’t pay much. But yeah, some of them are …

Eala gets through a 3h20 marathon with the always pesky Laura Siegemund. She has a LOT of pressure on her after last year's run. Battled like a boss.

@bobsakomano Others who jumped right in and were good were Jim Courier. And - maybe somewhat surprisingly to some - Lleyton Hewitt and … Kyrgios. Heard a lot of both of them down in Australianwhen they debuted and they nailed it.

@OpenCourt Agree with ALLL of that. Anytime Agassi for example steps in, I feel his insight and live analysis is off the charts. Others esp CVW above are beyond atrocious and clearly hit the ‘be yourself’ coaching

@LornaReddon It was actually a tough test passed for Eala. Not an easy one - at ALL. Good job by her.

@bobsakomano Some just walked off the court and into the booth and have “it”‘from the start. But the opposite is much more common.

@bobsakomano Some also don’t take their “retirement job” as seriously as they did their real job. And because the best make it look easy, maybe they think it IS easy. It’s not. At least not if you want to be best. It requires watching a ton more tennis off the clock than many want to.

@Liz41525875 There are only so many hours you can be on air. Also I believe she has a child. She may work as much as she wants to work. I’ll ask her some day.

@rdmtennisfan I feel like equality in this sphere means that average women will have the same chance to suck as many of the thoroughly average men out there. We’re not there now. Not close. You have to be ridiculously good, or a former top 10 player or really attractive.

@OpenCourt I do like Chanda's commentary, and yes we need more women commentating men's matches because the opposite is taken for granted.

Friday's WTA sked at the Miami Open has ... basically every seeded player in action including IW finalists Sabalenka and Rybakina. And both Canadians - Mboko and Fernandez. Full sked here: opencourt.ca/2026/03/19/wta…

@LornaReddon It’s just good match management within the rules but of course it does make it feel slower. They also went nearly 3 1/2 hours and she’s old. So I can relate to taking every possible second of rest 😂😂😂😂

@LornaReddon That’s a consequence of trying to regulate the serve clock that people don’t pay enough attention to. They made the rule because of a couple of notorious slowpokes. But the result is that everyone knows how much time they have now. So many will try to max it. Because they can

@LornaReddon LOVE her. If she were a club league player she would completely NEVER give you any close ball. Not one. 😂 And play with your head as needed. She’s 38 and still battling out there , undersized and underpowered. With a refreshing net game. Takes all kinds.
