@lab_witch_ I am NOT defending UC, but this is how I understand it. 20 hours is your RA which is research your PI pays you to work on. Other 20 hours is your thesis research hours (enrolled credits). You get paid for the 20 you work and the other 20 is course credits.

LMAO just learned that UC only considers grad students part-time, and they think we’re working <20 hours per week (hence the low pay). NEVER have I been told to work only 20 hours per week, and in fact I’ve been criticized for only working 40 some weeks.
