The overwhelming majority of western communists are driven by the latter.

Bear's faults are not unique to him, correct. That is precisely the point when I said those listed qualities are often found in "involuntary celibates" despite him not being one himself. The movie was not gender war slop (hence dead cat in the beginning, the body of which he disposed of in the kitchen trash) nor was it about every faulty nature characteristic of humanity out there. It centers around very specific faults as it's a movie with a specific plot and a few characters. Those faults (extreme passivity, laziness, selfishness, neglect) were not present in lucid Nikki either even in the few scenes we see of her. In fact she was the complete opposite of those things. While we saw a few separate negative qualities in the two other friends, there were none in lucid Nikki

@gothgivenright @_MSSOM_ Bears faults aren’t unique to him, the faults in bear, Nicki and all of the characters are about the faulty nature of humanity itself, to be human is to be torn in conflict between our higher and lower natures. To me this is what the move was about, not gender war slop

The film, to me, didn’t seem like a condemnation of “weirdos” but of the darkness within everyone
