@Beets_N_Beef @stevemagness Exactly this…if you can move better/quicker than your peers after puberty…you’ll turn out just fine. “Be an athlete” is what I tell my kids when they start to overthink the technique of hitting a baseball/softball or shooting a free throw.

@stevemagness Great post, I coach football for my son's age, I was a former D1 lineman. They dont understand that I tell them don't play travel football in the spring. Skip flag. Just have they try everything, let them learn to move, develop being an athlete.

If you want to "raise a D1 athlete" here's what works: 1. Stop trying to raise a D1 athlete Support your kid. Let them play whatever they want to play. Drive them to practice But it's got to come from them. They've got to want it. You can't force it. 2. Have great genetics

@michaelschwab13 Blowing things out of proportion - dude was hurt last year and frankly wasn’t good. Sending him to triple A was the smart thing to do considering they had no idea the starting rotation was going to be hurt/suck.

Still blows my mind that Spencer Arrighetti started the season in AAA. Makes me lose a lot of faith in Dana Brown’s assessment and ability

@michaelschwab13 With March Madness and last night’s Debacle in Denver now over…this was the pep talk my psyche needed to enjoy the next few weeks of baseball!

Catching is not the issue, it's not even close to Yainer Diaz's fault. The biggest thing is the Astros ERA is 5.75 but their xERA is 3.96 and SIERA is 3.95. Smoking gun is bad luck. BABIP is way above average at .326. This is usually a telltale sign of the ball falling in the wrong way, via bloops and missed defensive plays. Also, Home Run to Fly Ball ratio is league average between 10-11%, Astros at 15.5%. This will usually regress to the mean. The fact that there is a major gap between ERA and SIERA says that the team will find it's footing. Losing Hunter Brown doesn't help. Their ERA should be around 3.96 if things went their way, but baseball isn't like that. The good news is that the offense is hitting big time.

Astros bullpen combined ERA is 6.97. The bullpen has allowed 34 runs in 11 games. 34! They’ve given up a league leading 13 home runs.

Astros scored 22 and allowed 25 over the series. If you expected the Astros bats to be this good, raise your hand. If you expected the Astros pitching to be bad, do any eye emoji. If you’re just happy to be here, post a GIF
