South Korea’s largest crypto exchange Upbit announced it will list ICP with trading pairs against KRW, BTC and USDT. The Internet Computer protocol aims to provide native cloud computing capabilities that could replace traditional cloud services and IT infrastructure. upbit.com/service_center…

Why do so many people choose to lend out ETH on Aave for 2% instead of stake via Lido for 3% yield? In a new paper with Joel Hasbrouck, @cryptoeconprof, and @casparschwa we build a structural econometric model and estimate it with data from Aave and Lido. The result? There is a huge market inefficiency that cannot be explained by smart contract risk, depeg risk, or any other risk.

A few points: 1. Thankfully, the court relies on evidence, not false news. 2. False news is easy to write. You can spin negative narratives on just about anything with anonymous sources, from disgruntled ex-employee who were fired for cause, leaking date, under performance; from competitors paying fudders; even from political compaigns who are anti-crypto. 3. There is a whole industry of "mass tort lawyers" who files civil law suits as soon as you do a federal plea. All my lawyers warmed me about this, but I didn't fully grasp the concept until it happened. 4. You don't need 891 pages with 3,189 paragraphs if you have real evidence. You only do that when you don't have any evidence, trying to make up the lack of evidence with fake volumes, which as the good judge said, is "wholly unnecessary". Truth wins with time!
Laura Loomer@LauraLoomer

NEW: A federal judge in Manhattan has dismissed a civil lawsuit that sought to hold @binance, the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange, and its founder, Changpeng Zhao @cz_binance, legally responsible for crypto transactions they say were allegedly used to fund terrorist groups. The plaintiffs who sued CZ accused him of facilitating 64 terrorist attacks around the world by arguing that his company Binance facilitated terror financing after plaintiffs alleged several Foreign Terrorist Organizations were using Binance. U.S. District Judge Jeannette Vargas ruled that the 535 plaintiffs, consisting of terror attack victims and their relatives, failed to plausibly show that Binance or Zhao "culpably associated themselves with these terrorist attacks, participated in them as something they wanted to bring about, or sought by their actions to ensure their success." The original complaint was notably 891 pages with 3,189 paragraphs, which the judge described in her ruling as "wholly unnecessary" given the core allegations in the case. This dismissal represents a significant win for Binance and Zhao in the case brought under United States anti-terrorism financing laws and it answers questions surrounding possible culpability of crypto platforms whose users may or may not be engaged in criminal or terrorist activity in violation of platform policies. This is certainly an interesting case that is paving the way for more case law as it pertains to understanding sanctions, terror financing and platform liability in the evolving technological world we now live in.

if you’re bullish on btc but need liquidity, selling is often the dumbest move i’d rather keep the btc exposure and borrow cheaply against it than close the position completely pretty simple

most people still look at bitcoin like it can either sit idle or be sold. i think that’s outdated. if btc can be collateral, credit line and productive capital without giving up custody assumptions, that changes how people use it completely.

Unreal numbers 👀⚡️ "JPMorgan estimates that, had Germany not phased out nuclear power, the country would have generated 50% less electricity from fossil fuels and 84% less electricity from natural gas in 2024. Electricity prices in Germany would have been around 25% lower, and the country would have imported half as much electricity.."

Today @cz_binance, @binance, & @BinanceUS received an important update on baseless claims brought against them. The Court threw out *every one* of a Plaintiffs’ meritless claims, finding that they utterly failed to tie Mr. Zhao or Binance to financing any terrorist act. We are pleased that the Court recognized the lack of credibility in the claims. Even better if Plaintiffs stop bringing baseless claims in the first place!

"Liquidium is a great use of the technology that we've built." — @PierreSamaties Here's how @LiquidiumFi makes use of the ICP tech stack: Chain Fusion works subtly in the background but delivers something critical - truly native Bitcoin lending that eliminates the risks of existing systems. No bridges. No wrapped tokens. Just Bitcoin DeFi, done right.
