The Act has received Royal Assent and is now law. It's been a long journey of advocacy & we are so proud of our diverse members. Thank you for making this a priority and seeing it through. Looking forward to the coming months & creation of a new college of Counselling Therapy.

Association of Counselling Therapy of Alberta (ACTA) will become the College of Counselling Therapy of Alberta, where the professions of Counselling Therapist, Addictions Counsellor, & Child and Youth Care Counsellor will become protected titles when the College is proclaimed.

Watching the debate on Bill 30 - need to clarify: FACT-AB has been inviting CACCF to join us for the past 3 years. They were not interested. This has not impeded our ability to consider their members needs, however, as two of their members sit on the FACT-AB steering committee.

Yesterday, @shoffmanAB introduced legislation that would create a new College of Counselling Therapy to regulate counselling professionals. This will ensure that Albertans are seeking help from qualified professionals & receive safe & effective counselling services. #regulation

For too long, Albertans looking for a therapist or private substance-use treatment facility have been left to figure it out on their own. Today I introduced legislation that would take away the guesswork, helping families get the safe, competent care they need with peace of mind.
