@dannyconversano Non, c'est justement le mensonge de faire croire que le sexe est inconséquent qui nous amène aujourd'hui à cette société dépravée mais puritaine, car il ne l'est pas. Il est sacré et doit être considéré comme tel, dans le cadre sain et protecteur du mariage traditionnel.

Affluent families already surround their kids with networks of stable, accomplished adults through neighborhoods, schools, and parents' colleagues. Working and middle-class families usually don't. A congregation is often the last institution in American life that puts your kid in weekly contact with dozens of stable, employed, sober adults who know their name. It used to be called "a village." Now it barely exists outside of churches. "But I don't believe." Your kid doesn't need your theology. They need you to show up. "But church is boring." So is sitting through a kindergarten music recital. Parenting is the deliberate choice to be bored on purpose for someone you love. There's a church within 15 minutes of nearly every American home. You don't need money, connections, or credentials to walk in. Nothing else in this country will surround your kid with engaged adults, teach them moral seriousness, and give them a stable weekly rhythm at zero cost. You already drive them to practices that produce far less. The free thing on Sunday produces more, on more dimensions, than almost anything else you do as a parent. You don't have to believe anything. You just have to take them.

I am shocked, puzzled and a little bit amused by the extraordinary vehemence that some Catholics on X are displaying in their opposition to women’s ordination. Methinks they protest too much and are actually quite insecure in their beliefs. Pastoral help needed for them?

@AngelaTilby Cradle catholic here. Women can't be priest, no matter how. Maybe there are some anglicans priests that are effectively valid priests, but not a single woman.

I get the impression that some Catholics, especially recent converts, live in a fantasy world about women priests. In my experience our ministries and orders are widely recognised by Catholics, many of whom hope deeply for women priests and are not afraid to say so.

@LePropheteEli Sauf que lesdites religions sont toutes liées historiquement, elles découlent toutes du judaïsme.

La fornication, l’alcool et les jeux de hasard sont interdits dans plusieurs religions. Or elles se contredisent entre elles, donc elles ne peuvent pas toutes être vraies en même temps. Statistiquement, minimum 99% d’entre elles sont fausses donc cet argument n’a aucune valeur.

Ce n’est pas que les athées refusent les preuves, c’est qu’ils attendent des preuves claires, publiques et vérifiables. Comme le disait Carl Sagan : “Des affirmations extraordinaires nécessitent des preuves extraordinaires.” Exemple concret : 👉Jésus revient, il se présente devant des scientifiques, des journalistes, des chefs d’État du monde entier, il est observé, documenté, puis exécuté… et ressuscite trois jours après, sous contrôle indépendant. Là, on parle d’un événement testable, vérifiable, difficile à contester. Et au passage, un événement comme ça réglerait tout : - preuve publique et incontestable - conversion massive - fin des débats interminables - fin des guerres de religion Donc question simple : si c’est possible et que l’enjeu est aussi énorme… qu’est-ce qui l’en empêche ? Surtout qu'il n'aurait qu'à reproduire quelque chose qu'il a déjà fait...
