When the Norfolk shooter was convicted of material support to ISIS in 2016, President Trump’s DOJ sought a sentence of 240 months. The judge in that case downward departed and gave half that sentence. The shooter should’ve also been denaturalized and not been in the country to start with. Instead of focusing on those actual issues - light sentences for terrorists and keeping them in our country - Miranda spends an entire column blaming Kash Patel for something the FBI doesn’t have a role in.
Miranda Devine@mirandadevine

Column's up: Was the FBI forewarned about ISIS terrorist Mohamed Jalloh before he fatally shot up ODU in Norfolk while on supposedly supervised release? Non-answers on recent terror attacks raise alarming red flags. nypost.com/2026/03/18/opi…

🚨🚨 CAPTURED: Another FBI Most Wanted - Samuel Ramirez Jr., apprehended in Sinaloa, Mexico. Ramirez was on the run for nearly 3 years for his alleged involvement in the murder of two female victims May 21, 2023. After the alleged murders, he was believed to have fled the country. He was formally charged with murder May 24, 2023 - and a federal arrest warrant issued November 14, 2025. Hours ago, Ramirez was just returned from Mexico to the United States and landed in Seattle - taken into custody by Federal Way Police - where he will face justice. This is yet another most wanted high value target captured under this FBI and @TheJusticeDept with President Trump’s leadership. Special thanks to FBI's Legal Attaché office in Mexico City, Secretaria de Seguridad y Protección Ciudadana (SSPC), the Instituto Nacional de Migracion (INM), and the U.S. Attorney's Office Western District of Washington for the partnership in coordinating the arrest.

FBI is working 24/7 to stay ahead of the threat and implement a sweeping Cyber strategy pursuant to President Trump's “Cyber Strategy for America.” The goal is clear: impose real cost on those who target Americans in cyberspace by dismantling their networks, pursuing the hackers and spies behind them, and degrading their capacity to operate. The strategy also calls for hardening critical infrastructure and supply chains, securing emerging technologies, and building the cyber workforce pipeline, and the FBI is positioned to deliver on each. We have the authorities, the capabilities, and the partnerships to execute across both our law enforcement and national security missions, and we are committed to solidifying existing partnerships and forging new ones to defend the homeland.

Thank you to our great partners who continue to work with @FBI @NewYorkFBI investigating the attempted bombing at Gracie Mansion in New York this weekend.

As just addressed in the press conference with our partners: The two subjects are in custody on federal charges, and have admitted their attack was inspired by ISIS.

FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force continues to investigate with @NYPD. Multiple search warrants have been executed, and we will keep the public updated as able.

As always: thank you to law enforcement everywhere for your bravery and vigilance. And thank you to @TheJusticeDept @AGPamBondi for your quick movement in this case. The public can report any additional information to the FBI by calling 1-800-CALL-FBI or submitting a tip online at tips.fbi.gov.

Last night, John Daghita – a U.S. government contractor who allegedly stole more than $46 million in cryptocurrency from the U.S Marshals Service – was arrested on the island of Saint Martin by the French Gendarmerie’s premier elite tactical unit in a joint operation with the @FBI.   Thanks to the International Cooperation Team Serious Crime Unit of the French Gendarmerie National in Saint Martin, and the Groupe d’intervention de la Gendarmerie nationale of Guadeloupe for the outstanding coordination.   FBI will continue working 24/7 with our international partners to track down, apprehend, and bring to justice those who attempt to defraud American taxpayers—no matter where they try to hide.

I can play the “sources” game too - the difference is mine know what they’re talking about 1) I spoke to four FBI execs and supervisors, all of whom confirmed that only 3 of the individuals fired actually worked the Iran issue 2) Further - all called the quote that it’s “devastating to the Iran program” total BS. Not just because it’s 3 people - but FBI surges resources and personnel from all over the country to prepare for these things. 3) It’s a false suggestion to begin with. The FBI had a record year on CounterIntel last year (+35% arrests, Six of the Ten Most Wanted fugitives captured, etc) - all involving a massive operation, not something run by three people out of one unit. This is a transparent spin job by people mad about firings.
CBS Mornings@CBSMornings

FBI Director Kash Patel recently fired nearly a dozen FBI agents who worked on special counsel Jack Smith’s probe into President Trump’s classified documents case – and CBS News has learned from multiple sources that many of those agents were working on global counterintelligence cases, including some involving Iran. One source called the firings “devastating to the FBI’s Iran program.” The FBI said it still maintains robust counterintelligence operations across the U.S.

FBI personnel are fully engaged on the situation overseas. Last night I instructed our Counterterrorism and intelligence teams to be on high alert and mobilize all assisting security assets needed. Our JTTFs throughout the country are working 24/7, as always, to address and disrupt any potential threats to the homeland. While the military handles force protection overseas, the @FBI remains at the forefront of deterring attacks here at home - and will continue to have our team work around the clock to protect Americans. We ask everyone to please report anything that may seem suspicious to law enforcement - 1-800-CALL-FBI and tips.fbi.gov. Thank you to all military service members, federal partners, and law enforcement who continue to put mission first.

🚨 Today: 30 more individuals have been indicted under the FACE Act in connection to the January 18 targeting of Cities Church in Minnesota last month. As of this morning, the FBI executed a joint operation with our @HSI_HQ partners arresting over 20 of these individuals - with additional arrests to come. This makes 39 indictments in the Cities Church case total so far, including the arrest of Don Lemon and multiple alleged leaders of the riot last month. Let it be known: This FBI will never tolerate anyone who targets, intimidates, or attacks Americans peacefully exercising their right to worship freely. Thank you @AGPamBondi and @TheJusticeDept for your relentless pursuit of this case.

The FBI worked with our partners and arrested an 18 year old coercing a minor child into self-harm and sexual abuse - a horrific case with elements of Nihilistic Violent Extremism, an ideology that often targets young children online. This FBI and our partners are targeting these networks aggressively all over the country. Thank you @FBILosAngeles @FBIPhiladelphia and local authorities.

False and a ridiculous story to begin with. Here's what actually happened. -FBI Boston already has ERT personnel resources... they got there to the scene in under 2 hours. The shooting occurred after 4pm. FBI ERT personnel arrived around 6pm. -This was not immediately an FBI case... it was a State-led homicide investigation. FBI was in an assisting role until later. MS NOW conveniently leaves this out. -There would not be a situation where the FBI delayed or couldn't send resources because of Director travel, especially in this case. This is a ridiculous claim. If the Director happens to be out of town, he always offers the plane if needed anyway - and he did so here. It wasn't needed. Again, MS NOW was given this context and left this out. The FBI jumped all over this case and provided any and all resources needed in a timely manner. The locals on the ground said so themselves in the early stages of the case. MS NOW is misleading because it’s what they do.
Ken Dilanian@KDilanianMSNOW

New: FBI’s evidence response team was delayed in reaching the Brown shooting because there was no FBI plane available to take them to Rhode Island, per sources and whistleblower. @FBIDirectorKash⁩ had one plane in Florida. With ⁦@CarolLeonnigms.now/news/senator-s…
