California caregiving laws recognize chosen and extended family relationships. It’s time for bereavement leave to do the same. SB 1149, introduced today by @SenMariaEDurazo would allow workers to take bereavement leave to grieve for a chosen or extended family member.
USDA can act today to make sure millions of families receive their SNAP benefits on time. Delaying action means children, parents, veterans, people with disabilities, and older adults go without food. There is no reason for families to wait.
