@WojciechITB @FF_mayday @BINinformatie Look what we found out by just doing the simple experiment. Led flashlight (green) is visible on a thermal imagine camera! You can even see the blinking. This is interesting for #firefighters. Believe more research is needed. But it is a start. #alwaysgohome

@semanticfire @fireboomer @WojciechITB @FF_mayday We need to research this. Can FF capture different patterns in light pulses during interior firefighting and from what distance. 1 puls = 2 seconds. Alfa could be 2s puls, 2s pause. Delta would be 4 x that. Inbetween the sequences 4s pause.

@WojciechITB @FF_mayday @BINinformatie Another question. What would it take to see those lightpulsles on a TIC? Would it make sense to try and combine that: visual wavelength of light and then a sort of wavelength that is captured by a TIC? Many FF carry a TIC. If it makes the light more visible (distance) why not.

@fireboomer @FF_mayday @BINinformatie I would go for a strong white LED's with a spherical lens. They should have great battery life and visibility if you drop them on the flow. Would also consider slow-blinking so you can tell it is this device when the light gets scattered and you just see afterglow.

First attempt at processing results from the visibility experiment - there definitely is a significant difference in how smoke obscures light at different wavelengths. We still must double-check it, and understand the implications. Propper experiments and investigation ongoing!
