Should a relationship be 50/50? Women pay invisible costs just to exist. Yes, some are choices, but most men rarely even think about them. The cost of ageing. Men become “silver foxes”. Women are told to fight wrinkles, avoid grey hair, and somehow stop time itself. Botox, fillers, lasers, skincare, cosmetic surgery, hair colour. It adds up. The cost of motherhood. Taking years out of the workforce impacts earnings, career growth, and retirement. I was lucky I owned my own business and had time with my babies early on, but childcare, nannies, and career pauses still come at a cost, especially for stay at home mums. Healthcare costs. Hormones, contraception, feminine hygiene products, pregnancy, menopause. Being female literally costs more. Safety costs. This is a BIG one. Uber instead of walking at night. Taxi instead of public transport. Paying more to live in safer areas or buildings. Men rarely have to think about these daily calculations. Beauty costs. Some of this is choice, but nails, hair, skincare, makeup, and beauty treatments are constantly reinforced by societal expectations while pretending it’s all “optional”. So still think relationships should always be 50/50? Maybe ask whether life has ever actually been 50/50 to begin with 😅🤔

This small-brained ideology pouring forth from the mouths of people who don't know any better is as tiresome as anything else. I'm not for "capitalism" or "libertarianism" or any other such nonsense, and the only reason this person is saying that anything is "dead on arrival" is because they are married to another "ism" that they realise won't get any further because it is the ideological commitment to something abstract, rather than really looking at the world and improving it based on what you find, that is dead. It isn't good to make people state dependents. I don't approve of simply making X free for Y because the Labour government has suggested it. Trivialities such as bus fares are things people can and should pay for themselves. I realise that this is scary to "nationalists", but that's too bad. The quality and character of the people also matters to me, in addition to our demographics. It isn't good to make people state dependents, and where possible we ought to minimise it. I don't approve of simply making X free for Y because the Labour government has suggested it. Trivialities such as bus fares are things people can and should pay for themselves. This is a calculation about what is actually good for us rather than based in some abstract fantasy. There are plenty of things that the state ought to take care of, however. For example, a national steel industry is a good idea. The water, power, and railways ought to be national services. The NHS is a good idea. These are common goods that we cannot individually, or on a small-scale, manage ourselves. Extending this principle to "people should get free bus rides if they're X" is just absurd. Why? Why should someone else pay for your bus pass? You can pay for it, it's your bus pass. I don't see how that's "Scrooge" anything, it's just common sense to minimise the amount of taxes the state extorts from its citizens. Take responsibility for yourself.

I think Restore should stand in the Makerfield by-election. Why not? If we can focus on 1 constituency like Restore did in Yarmouth then 100s of activists would come, possibly even more then Yarmouth seen as its more central. Even if Restore doesn’t win they can have a huge effect on the election results and will damage Reform a lot. Thoughts?
