@Adrian_Hilton What about the billions we have spent on Ukraine? Which magic money tree yielded all that dosh? Why wasn’t it spent here? And why do we pay billions into NATO if we are also going to pay billions to defend a non-NATO country. Either we trust NATO to protect us or we leave.

@afneil Brexit was never about economics. It was about self-determination. We didn’t want to be part of a club, a cooperative, another parliament, another council. We don’t call ourselves Europeans. We are Brits. And we want to do things our way and we won’t be told by anyone else.

It’s Europe. In or out of the EU, the bar is low these days. On its current trajectory much of Europe is heading for mid-tech backwater status.

All my life, I wondered how the Holocaust could have happened. I understood that Hitler & other leaders were EVIL, but how did millions of ordinary people go along with it?

As expected: Burnham probably rebuilds the progressive coalition plus a bit of Reform. What's interesting is Reform's residual strength at what would likely be the peak of Burnham's popularity. Presumably, Red Wallers are sticking with it; remains the leading opposition party.
