Mr. Xing Yutang, FIT Asia Chair and Executive Deputy Secretary General of Translators Association of China (TAC), shared achievements, opportunities and challenges of FIT Asia.

During the XXIII FIT World Congress from 4 to 6 September 2025 in Geneva, Switzerland, a panel was held with representatives of FIT’s five regional centres elaborating on the theme of Regional Realities, Global Challenges: Mapping the Way forward for Regional Centres.

The XXIII FIT Statutory Congress was held from 2 to 3 September 2025 in Geneva, Switzerland. A 6-member delegation of TAC attended the event. Ms. Xu Rong, TAC’s Executive Council Member and the Editor-in-Chief of the Foreign Languages Press was elected as Vice President of FIT.

On 20 May 2025, the second Board Meeting of FIT Asia was convened in hybrid mode in the Hong Kong Baptist University on the sidelines of the 11th Asia-Pacific Translation and Interpreting Forum (APTIF11).

Prof. Sun is a council member of the Translators Association of China (TAC) and editor-in-chief of Babel, FIT's  scholarly journal.

The 11th Asia-Pacific Translation and Interpreting Forum opened on 21 May. At the opening ceremony, the Honorary Fellowship Conferment Ceremony of the Hong Kong Translation Society was held. Prof. Sun Yifeng from the University of Macau was conferred this prestigious title.

The event brings together around 400 representatives from the translation, interpreting, language technology, and academic research sectors globally, discussing how AI and technology connect and integrate with language, translation and intercultural communication.
