This past weekend, @FIU celebrated #EarthDay in D.C. by volunteering at the @anacostiaws annual Earth Day River Cleanup alongside @FfP_Global! @FIUEnvironment Director Todd Crowl, @FIUCASE Associate Dean of Research Rita Teutonico, @FIU_CEC Postdoctoral Research Associate Tero Kaarlela, and MS student Daniel Correa joined in the cleanup and showcased @FIUSCIS marine technology to participants and community members alike. These included a @BlueRov marine autonomous drone, capable of remote monitoring, subsurface movement, and waste removal. This past Saturday we presented to New River Middle School for their "MISSION POSSIBLE: Sharks In Action" Outdoor Environmental Fair. @FIUCarta and @ReefBase helped create these models for outreach events. Showcasing the type of work we do in the Florida Keys.

FIU's Aquarius Reef Base recently partnered with CARTA's Robotics and Digital Fabrication Lab (tag) to build a 3D model of the undersea habitat that will be used to educate visitors at their Islamorada Shore Base facility.
