Barely 24 hours after Tshisekedi’s government announced the creation of an armed group of over 20,000 fighters to protect mines and claimed the Trump administration had agreed to fund it with $100 million Washington has denied the reports.
“The United States government is not currently funding any mining patrol or guard unit in the DRC,” the U.S. Embassy in the DRC clarified in a statement released Tuesday.

Congo’s army and police can’t even secure the country’s own mines? So now Tshisekedi’s solution? Train and arm yet another group specifically to protect those mines? This, on top of the 200+ armed groups already operating across the country. And let’s be honest how long before these newly created “protectors” start clashing with existing militias over control of the same mines? Believe me I know Congo soon if FARDC, Mayi Mayi, APCLS, FDLR and Wazalendo are not given their share, they’ll take it. Americans and Arab investors are about to get a front-row seat to Tshisekedi’s chaos in DRC. 🤣🤣

Before South Sudan handed over the construction roads worth $2.3 billion to Shamrock Global Group, US had submitted her interest in mining and constructing roads but with two conditions. US wanted transparency and security which Juba didn't like especially transparency (public participation) since corruption is the order of the day.
Now the minister of finance went to Washington DC and made an agreement of handing over mining contracts to the same US that Juba failed to fulfil her demands. The same contracts that were awarded to Shamrock Global Group, a South African company to construct roads.
Unless clauses in the agreement with Shamrock Global Group say otherwise, South Sudan could be shooting herself in the foot.

I’m starting to believe that the Hutus did the right thing in 1994. If Rwandans are happy and proud to protest against a country they don’t belong to, and if they are also happy that Paul Kagame is continuing to kill our fellow Africans, then I believe what the Hutus did was good. 1994 should come again, because no one in Rwanda is stopping or even standing against what Paul Kagame is doing to our fellow Congolese in eastern DRC. That is genocide against the Congolese people.
