I don’t believe they needed first team changeover to be greatly improved. Trent is back, as are McKivitz, Puni and Brendel. With the fix at guard (likely Jones), that’s a decent starting line. They’ve added two rookies who look very talented, who should have an impact within the next 2 years. The key is the starting left guard, and the tackle/guard depth. Jones is a capable starter, and they now have Toth and Lowe as guard and tackle depth. That’s much better than they had last year. It’s still possible to add a vet in the coming weeks—Bitonio remains a possibility. But they’ve already made great strides.

Most of the attention has been on the 49ers D-line this offseason. Not surprising given the very depleted state they were in throughout 2025. But… Lynch and Shanahan have quietly improved the strength and depth of their O-line this offseason, as well, by adding three solid veterans (Jones, Lowe, and Toth) and two promising rookies (Willis and Cruz), PLUS securing Trent Williams on a new extension. The 49ers have dramatically improved the D-line, and built a much-improved O-line at the same time. That’s not a minor achievement, but gets no play in the Internet or even mainstream media because it doesn’t fit with the “roster mismanagement” narrative that is trending with the uninformed.

More consensus badgering of prospects. Try watching film. He's literally the best blocking WR in the draft. The route he had the most success in college was the dig. A staple in Kyles offense. Rookies aren't finished products BTW. Deebo was one of the worst route runners in the league and he still dominated because Kyle schemed him open. NFL.com is the Bible for draft prospects.
