I will never forget standing in -40 near the broken toxic portables at the "school" in Attawapiskat. 13 year old Shannen Koostachin told me the children weren't putting up with these indignities anymore. She changed Canada. And she changed me. I think of her everyday.

📷 Grateful for our incredible land-based learning team at Wiikwemkoong Junior School! 📷 Today, students had a unique experience learning how every part of the black bear they harvested is utilized. A powerful lesson in sustainability and respect for nature. #landbasedlearning
