We are delighted to announce the formal launch of Families of Veterans Guild , a new brand name for our organisation known as Australian War Widows NSW. This is a historic day and we are looking forward to CONNECT, SUPPORT & EMPOWER the families of Australian veterans.

The wattle represents Australian resilience, strength and remembrance. It became a tradition during World War I to press and send wattle to wounded Soldiers and bury fallen Soldiers with sprigs of wattle. 💛 💸Purchase your wattle pin here: awwnsw.sellfy.store

Wear a pin with pride💛 Available for $10 each (including postage), a wattle pin has been created to support War Widows Day 2022. The wattle design for this pin was hand drawn for AWWNSW by young design student Nidhi Bolar, for its 75th Anniversary in 2021.

Veterans’ families must be #included in the system and have their needs recognised and met. Because veterans do not exist in a vacuum. BUT we need to demonstrate this to the @roycommDVSRC. We need you to tell your stories to us or to them.

It has been a week since we stood up for the families of veterans in the #media. Why? Because in our opinion #veteransfamilies must be at the heart of a reformed #veteran support system.

Today was a significant day. We honour the #veterans of the #VietnamWar and their #families. We remember the 521 #Australians who made the ultimate sacrifice and the more than 3,000 officially wounded, injured and ill as a result of the war. ❤ #VietnamVeteransDay
