This is supposed to be a Mukiele appreciation post, but I wrote it slightly differently... Every season, there are players who just… kept returning. No social media hype, no flashy underlying numbers, no “content creator seal of approval”. Week after week, they quietly tick along. Mukiele is one of them. Cheap. Plays for a newly promoted team. Sometimes not even a conventional defcon magnet. Every GW, you look at him and your brain says: “Bench this guy.” But somehow, you start him. You followed your heart. And somehow… he returns. Again. We’ve seen this story before plenty of times this season. Think Guehi during his Palace days. Summerville recently. Think MGW still flying under the radar because people assume his team “doesn’t attack enough”. Or Aaronson in a Leeds side that keeps surprising people. Or Harry Wilson, not all content creators love him because his data isn’t flashy enough. Sometimes, you just happened to own one of these players. You don’t even remember why you bought them. And suddenly, you’re on the receiving end of comments like: “Lucky.” “Casual.” “Vibes merchant". "Fucking Idiot" (yeah some felt there is a need to curse) Because while others spent hours munching data, only to end up buying players who missed sitters. Meanwhile, your guy gets a goal or assist from basically 0 xGI. Here’s what I want to say: ignore the noise. Yes, sometimes we make hipster picks. And we can’t fully justify them. (I had Szoboszlai for his haul last GW after all the blanks. I’ve held Semenyo since GW3. All for no reason. Just vibes, and a bit of patience.) And no, I still don't own Enzo, or Joao Pedro, or Rice, or double Arsenal defence. Yes they will punish me at some point, but you can't have everyone. We’re only given one FT per GW. And not everyone wants to chase every new shiny toy using hits. And that’s absolutely fine. A message for angry 😡 people (if you are somehow still reading it without flipping your table): If you feel like every “well-studied, high-ceiling” transfer blanks the moment you buy them, maybe there’s something being overlooked. The fact is sometimes, your players do haul. Let’s be honest, everyone has players who do. You just subconciously brush it off as “That’s what they’re supposed to do.” You take it for granted. But when things go wrong, you remember magnify single detail. There’s no space left in your heart to appreciate the good. That’s why in a bad GW, I always look for silver linings. For example Schade got sent off this GW, you almost bought him, but you didn't. That's luck, it could've been a lot worse for you. Sometimes, not losing points is a win in itself. So don't apologize for being "lucky", and never let others define whether you are a good FPL manager or not. #FPL #FPLCommunity
