Keho ry, the student association for global development studies in UH, organised a panel discussion with Students for Palestine just now in #DevDays2025, in which the students called for stronger solidarity from the researcher community in fights against colonialism.

The interesting and engaging discussion with the speakers and the audience could have lasted for hours, as we dove into topics such as race, gender, nationality, and privilege in scholar-activist struggles. A lively and critical start for the second conference day!

Ali Kadri is currently giving an illuminating keynote lecture on the topic "De-development and the Accumulation of Waste through Wars". #DevDays2025

In her talk, Sajed tackles the contested laguage used to refer to the Global North/ developing coutries/ Third World. According to her, the language needs to recognise colonial histories as "the very terminology we use delimits our understanding of the world".
