Florida has some of the best emergency management response in the country, but it is so important to remember that while our state and local officials are working around the clock, the first line of defense to your home, business, and family is preparedness. I had a wonderful visit at a Head Start program in Alexandria, Virginia today. As we celebrate National Nutrition Month, @HHSGov is reinforcing its commitment to Make America Healthy Again by prioritizing healthy eating and nutrition for Head Start grantees. We are encouraging programs to switch from low-fat dairy – which the antiquated Dietary Guidelines require them to promote – to full fat/whole milk.

Today, @SecKennedy visited the Greater Mount Vernon Community Head Start in Gum Springs, VA. Nutrition services have been a hallmark of the Head Start program since its inception. Those movements get STRONG towards the end of pregnancy. That doesn’t mean your baby’s movement pattern should change! It’s important to know how long it takes your baby to reach 10 movements and the time of day that they are most active so you can speak up if anything changes.
