When a nations politics are hopelessly broken, what might that suggest about it's culture? 🤔

@FloppingAces What they hear is surrendering to this asshole is the worst scenario. They see through the bullshit. Trump is panicking & has lost support at home and abroad. This will get far worse, the implications on global trade is spiralling and it is one man’s fault because he is an idiot.

This is what drives the media batshit insane: Trump says negotiations are “extremely well”… then immediately adds, “but you never know...we might have to blow them up.” They hear contradiction. Iran hears the real message: Make a deal… or find out. That’s exactly why Iran just doubled the ships through the Strait of Hormuz. Not goodwill. Not magic. It’s what happens when they believe Trump will actually follow through. Weak leverage gets you nothing. This isn’t weak. (article below)

@Humanlty1o1 Over 7 million died worldwide from Covid, that we know of. The life expectancy for the U.S. actually decreased by two years from Covid. You are a fool. Those are the facts.

In the early 2000's, I was flying home to Canada after being overseas for 2 years, flying through Schiphol airport in the Netherlands. When I got to the gate, it was clear to see it was Canada. From flags to Roots branded clothing, clearly pale skin tones from a long cold winter and the sounds of English and French conversation wafting through the air. A week ago, I flew through the same airport on my way back. When I arrived at my gate, it wasn't as clear this time from the passengers. This time, I was either headed to Toronto or Mumbai from the look of it. Though it was most likely Toronto, as 90% of the people boarding had at least 3 generations of their family with them, spoke no English or French, many so old they needed wheelchair assistance and looked eager to take advantage of whatever systems we still have left in Canada.

It’s not just that NATO refused nearly all our requests. We can’t afford to protect Europe AND… The world’s largest Arctic coastline 2nd-largest country on Earth The longest border with a close China ally The longest sub and missile approaches The GIUK Gap Because Canada’s military is pathetic and they are acting like children. It’s just too much for us to do both. Not to mention growing commitments in the Pacific that Canada refuses to help with. Are we going to protect Canada or Europe? That’s the question. My children live in North America so ignoring Canada’s submarine and missile approaches just isn’t an option for me.

🚨 HOLY CRAP. President Trump just said America no longer has to be there for NATO "We WOULD have always been there for them, but now, based on their actions? I guess we don't have to be, do we?!" "I think a tremendous mistake was when NATO just wasn't there. They just weren't there. It's going to make a lot of money for the United States, because we spent hundreds of billions of dollars a year on NATO, hundreds, protecting them." Trump NEVER FORGETS.

@johnkonrad It’d be remiss to point out only the cost without the benefit. Being engaged in Europe gave the US Silicon Valley, NASA, Wall Street, just about everything that makes your comfortable. The investment in Europe has paid off a million times over.

@DavidWolfe The unwilling require a short sharp shock to rouse them. I don't wish to literally mug anyone with reality even if I can. Either they come alive or they don't. Not everyone can be saved.
