Are you suggesting that it is not ok for women to criticise the inappropriate sexualisation of athletes just because a woman designed it and a woman may have approved it? The principle is the sexualisation of serious athletes which just underlines misogynistic attitudes and expectations. I don’t care what sex the designer is.

In jumping events males have a 20% advantage over females. That’s huge. This male wouldn’t make the top 100 in the state against other males of the same age. Sex discrimination cheered on by the feckless. It’s shameful the message we are giving young girls who also have dreams

Desperately sad to read this from the Scottish 200m record holder. A great role model for girls and she is in our thoughts.

Beth Dobbin has announced her retirement from athletics aged 31 due to a "serious and life changing health issue". The sprinter represented Team GB in the 200m at the Tokyo Olympics and is a Commonwealth 4x400m bronze medallist. She is also the Scottish 200m record-holder (22.50) and ran for Great Britain at two World and European Athletics Championships.
