The #US has big plans to increase #water quality to protect citizens’ health thanks to new regulations on drinking water. 🇺🇸 We are the one-stop shop that will effectively enable cities and industries to succeed! 💧 This includes diagnosing regulated PFAS pollutant presence in drinking water, providing adequate treatment solutions, and handling the hazardous waste that may contain them. We know how to do all three!🚰 We have not been sitting idle before the @EPA announced reinforced standards. ➡️Veolia has already treated a cumulative 2.1 billion gallons of water in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania across more than 30 sites. And, we have more than 50 additional projects at various stages to meet the new standards. ➡️Up to 6,000 public drinking water providers in the US will need help to align with the new regulations, and #PFAS removal is estimated to have a $250bn market potential. We are here to meet the increase in demand, in line with the purpose of our #GreenUp plan: to protect people's health through our innovative solutions. It was great to see things moving on the ground and meet our key partners this week. It is always a blast to be here, feeling the enthusiasm and energy behind our new projects. I am talking about Pickleball, which I had the opportunity to play this week with rising French star @JayDevilliers! 🏓 I learned about Pickleball a few years ago as I was traveling to the US, and the spirit of the #sport immediately resonated with me. An unexpected combination of elements from tennis, badminton, and table tennis, it keeps things simple, relaxed and fun for everyone. It can be played indoors or outdoors, whatever you like, and is designed to cater to every kind of player, whatever their age or gender. Its very simple rules allow you to have fun right away. Just like 9 million others across America lately, at Veolia we fell in love with this sport and decided to support its growth. ➡️How? By helping it become a leading #green sport through a comprehensive partnership with the Professional Pickleball Association (PPA Tour), with Veolia taking care of waste collection, increasing recycling percentages, providing sustainable water refill stations and boosting overall environmental performance. #Pickleball has a bright future ahead of it, not only in the US, but also here in Europe I am sure. Let me share it with you, as I did yesterday at our Annual Meeting of #shareholders. 🗺️ ➡️ First and foremost, we are reaping the benefits of a group-wide transformation initiated almost ten years ago by Antoine Frérot, our Chairman, a transformation that I am honored to be prolonging now. This allowed us to build Veolia into the strong and agile company it is today, with high potential for innovation, #growth and extension to new markets. 📈 The results speak for themselves. Today, we have a leverage ratio of 2.7x, two years only after the Suez takeover, and an after-tax ROCE of 8%. Our net income has doubled in just five years. ➡️ Our strength also comes from our ability to cement a true world leader status. We are now among the top three environmental solutions providers in every market that we are in. This makes our value proposition very clear to our clients: if they want to benefit from world-leading solutions right where they are, they can rely on us. Companies are all looking for the Holy Grail of #EcologicalTransformation, that is, getting the highest number of effective solutions from the smallest possible number of providers.
