Since 2021 I have been working at 4 different EU universities. In each and every one of them I had to use a Gmail account. So much for #digitalsovereignty. If universities cannot even manage their own mail servers independently, any such talk is as far-fetched as it gets.

First, on what I mean by overrated - one way to measure a book's position in the field is its citation count. Eight years ago I compiled a ranking of the most cited books in social science, as measured by Google Scholar (blogs.lse.ac.uk/impactofsocial…). IC ranked 5th on the list. 2/
