Nostalgia is without a doubt the biggest disease in football debates because there is not a single attribute that Terry has over Van Dijk. Put Terry in our 18/19 team and he is nowhere close to touching the Ballon D’Or. Put Van Dijk in that 05 Chelsea side and he’s untouchable.

Robert Sanchez hasn't been Chelsea's worst player or biggest problem this season but the point still remains... He's clearly upgradable. He makes fairly regular, game-altering mistakes. (Man United, Leeds, Arsenal last night spring to mind) The best goalkeepers in the League... Raya, Alisson, Donnarumma... not only do they make exceptional saves, but their mistakes are rare. (Donnarumma's admittedly have been slightly more common than Raya/Alisson's this season) A goalkeeper that can make special saves (like Sanchez' vs Merino last night) and 2 huge errors in the same game... that's really not much use. His level... well Robert Sanchez had been dropped by Brighton in the final few months prior to his move to Chelsea... And which Premier League club's would willingly swap their goalkeeper for Sanchez? Wolves, Bournemouth, Leeds, Burnley... maybe Fulham, maybe West Ham... that's it. This May, it'll be 9 years since Chelsea last won the Premier League, they haven't finished higher than 3rd since Clearlake took over. They've finished 19 points, 14, 28 and 15 points off the Champions. This season they are already 18 points behind Arsenal. Chelsea don't need players capable of getting them into the Top 4, they need title winning quality players.
